TÜCHTIG will become Germany’s first inclusive co-working space—a workspace for everyone. To make this possible, certain areas require special solutions. For people with disabilities, adapt‘able is designed to remove barriers to using the space while simultaneously providing attractive functions for people without physical limitations, all supported by the same infrastructure. Personalized actions are necessary to better accommodate different users and enhance their experience.
The space should adapt to people—not the other way around. For example, what if a toilet automatically adjusts to the correct height for a wheelchair user? What if simple, cashless payments could be made through a transparent prepaid account, or lockers secured without the hassle of keys? What if the display language automatically switches to the user’s preferred language, or contrasts are adjusted for better readability?
adapt‘able is designed to cover all of these functions and many more. Using NFC chips—worn as key fobs, bracelets, or embedded in smartphones—personalized actions can be triggered at designated interaction points throughout the co-working space. adapt‘able consists of four interconnected system components: NFC chips, NFC readers, the TÜCHTIG network, and TÜCHTIG staff. Together, they ensure that adapt‘able contributes to a better working experience at TÜCHTIG.
