Nowadays, people spend long time indoors, often exposed to harmful gases and gradually losing their connection to nature. Instead, they try to upgrade this environment with technological devices like air humidifiers and diffusers which contain non-sus- tainable materials and worsen the situation in the long term. This project takes an alternative path through specially designed elements, which provide conditions for nature to take root as an integral part of the human environment. They consist of porous ceramics, serving as substrate for plant growth, and can take on different shapes and sizes, allowing for a broad variety of free arrangements.
Beyond being sustainable, decorative art pieces, the elements also offer beneficial properties for indoor spaces. Their porous ceramic structure absorbs water and releases moisture into the air, thus promoting healthy plant growth and indirectly improv- ing air quality via photosynthesis of plants, ultimately lowering urban heat island effects.
