How can different worlds of experience be linked via the medium of chalk?

Chalk - a relic of childhood, coarse painting and writing material of almost archaic character. A toy for children, but also a medium for spreading messages and information and for making marks. My project is an invitation to discover potentials of natural resources of the environment through the production of chalk pens, to experiment with them, to experience them sensually and to produce an environmentally friendly product from them.

The experience of working with natural materials, their smells, colors and shapes, is an enrichment for the experience of our world. It awakens a child's urge to explore, which sets in motion its very own creative processes. In addition, making one's own product, as opposed to using prefabricated products, creates a more personal relationship to the value of things.
